A PROGRAM ABOUT A NEW NOVEL BASED ON THE TRUE STORY OF THE LYMAN FAMILY OF LYMAN ORCHARDS

Author Diana Ross McCain will discuss her new novel Thy Children’s Children, based on the true story of the first five generations of the Lyman family of Lyman Orchards of Middlefield, Connecticut,as an example of how well-researched historical fiction both entertains and informs.

Thy Children’s Children accurately and engagingly conveys the novel’s turbulent time period between 1741 and 1871, highlighting the role of Lyman men and women in pivotal events such as the American Revolution, the Underground Railroad, and the industrial and transportation revolutions. McCain will share how she melded historical fact with imagination to craft fiction that breathes life into the past.

Copies of Thy Children’s Children will be available for sale ($20.00) and signing after the program.

Diana Ross McCain is an independent historian and author of five non-fiction books on Connecticut history. She was on the staff of the Connecticut Historical Society for 25 years. This is her first novel.
